Panasonic FP 7735

The Panasonic FP-7735 is a black and white printer and copier that is good for small companies and home offices. The Panasonic FP-7735 can print up to 35 black and white pages per minute with copy ratio of 50% to 200%, as per industry standards. It has a maximum sheet capacity of 5,800 pages with an automatic document feeder. Monthly duty cycle is 50,000 pages that make it ideal for small businesses and for home use.

The Panasonic FP-7735 offers maximum page resolution of 11 x 17 inches. It takes around 75 seconds for the Panasonic FP-7735 to warm up and the first copy takes around four seconds. Standard paper capacity of 550 sheets along with an automatic document feeder makes the Panasonic FP-7735 good for small businesses. Printing speed is around 35 pages per minute to 37 pages per minute, depending on the type of document.

The Panasonic FP-7735 uses high quality toner cartridges that offer great quality prints. Toner cartridges can be easily replaced with new ones as quality products are available both in retailer outlets and on the internet.

The FP-7735 is designed to be an office workhorse, with the capability of holding a massive 5,800 sheets as its total capacity. It is quite a hefty machine, weighing in at 159Lbs but for sitting in an office printing room, this is not a problem. The Panasonic FP -7735 is a quiet machine, which is always a bonus in an office environment. With minimal noise output, you can keep on copying all day without disturbing anyone. The FP–7735 also is easy on the electricity, meaning that it is not only better for the environment, but also on the pocket.

This is definitely an office-only machine, as anyone needing copying done at home would be far better off getting a smaller multi-purpose printer, unless of course they have a roomy home office which can accommodate the 26 x 24 x 23 inches that the FP-7735 occupies. The copy quality of this unit is also great, and when multiple copies are done the quality does not deteriorate as with some other copiers of lesser quality. This is partly because of the toner quality, and also the copying capabilities of the machine itself, which are of a very high standard.

For those looking for a sturdy machine that can handle a huge output demand, then the Panasonic FP-7735 is definitely a good buy.

Xerox Phaser 7750

Not so long ago color laser printers were restricted to the manager’s office or to marketing. They were simply too expensive to have too many of them, and too slow to be efficient in a busy office. Not only were the printers themselves expensive, the toners could be extortionate. Xerox changed all that, and with the Xerox Phaser 7750, they continue the trend of bringing great quality color laser printing to the masses.

The advent of the single pass laser is what turned things around for laser printers. Once resigned to a pitiful 5 or 6 pages per minute, they can now enjoy performance on par with monochrome. The Phaser 7750 can output at a rate of 35 pages per minute, which is more than acceptable for a device of this caliber.

The prints were of a high quality until you get to print text at low points. 3 and 4 pt text became a little fuzzy, but overall the text quality is of a high standard. Image reproduction was a surprise though. Images were never the strong suit of a laser printer, yet the Phaser 7750 outputs some great quality photos with real depth to their color. There were no artifacts, or criss-crosses like you see with many other lasers.

There are four versions on the Phaser 7750. The base model 7750B, the 7750DN with a network card, automatic duplexing, hard disk and extra ram, the 7750GX which adds even more ram and a 1500 sheet paper drawer, and the 7750DXF which adds a finisher and a bigger paper drawer to take the total to 3150 sheets.
Setting the 7750 up was as easy as unpacking it and connecting it up. Once powered the networked versions were automatically configured on the network and were configured in minutes. The Xerox remote management package, CentreWare is a pleasure to work with and had everything up and running within 20 minutes.

Starter toners are included which are good for a couple of thousand sheets each. Replacements are easy to acquire and reasonable considering they are Xerox. A black toner will last for 32000 pages, and the color ones 22000.

We would have no hesitation recommending the Phaser 7750 to any office, even ones were graphic designers need to print. It is easily competent enough to handle even the most complex of designs and print it accurately.

With a high duty cycle, large paper capacity and long lasting toners it would also be equally at home is a busy office. Anybody looking for an affordable printer/copier with lower than usual running costs and professional quality finishing should look no further than the Phaser 7750.

Lexmark E320 Printer Review

The Lexmark E320 is a bit of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It looks, and is priced like a personal laser printer, but is built like a full-on workgroup machine. The speed, print quality and networking capabilities all hint at something more.

In its basic guide, the E320 is a small printer ideally suited to a SOHO or home worker. The upgrade options are what gives this printer its teeth. It can be upgraded to hold more paper, network, larger memory and add some finishing options. This gives the printer a modular appeal that offers a little more that the average machine. It means the E320 can’t be pigeonholed for one particular group.

Paper capacity can be expanded from 150 to 400 with an optional paper drawer, the memory can be increased from 4Mb to 68Mb. You can add an Ethernet port too, which expands the built-in USB and parallel to include the SOHO and small workgroup into the fold.

There is no control panel to speak of but the driver suite offers a whole range of ways to control the printer and the sheets it prints. You can set the darkness, resolution, toner coverage, and a whole raft of other custom options to get your prints just how you like them.

Setup is a breeze, taking less than 10 minutes from unpacking to running. The cartridges are already installed and ready to go, once the printer is unpacked, connected via USB the drivers only take moments to install and you’re ready to go. Paper is fed into the drawer at the bottom, up through the printer to pass the toners and is fed out to the 150 sheet tray at the top. 150 sheets is a little optimistic as ours began sliding off after 50 or so. Apart from that, operation is flawless.

Print quality is about what we have come to expect from Lexmark. Text is crisp and exact, even at small points. The lines are straight and edges stand out like they should. Images and photographs were equally as good. Grayscale interpretations of color photos were accurate and understandable, which is a nice bonus with a laser device.

It’s obvious that Lexmark have put a lot of effort into the quality and operation of the E320. It offers something for everyone and seems equally at home with a home user as it does with a workgroup.
