Epson Nozzle Clogs
Guidelines for most epson printers :
But I think it is due to the following work method :
BIGGEST REMARKS :
-BE PATIENT !!!
-DO NOT LET AIR GET INTO THE INKTUBES OF YOUR PRINTER !!!
(this is why you need to prepare the syringe)
Phase 1 : Syringe preparation
1.Fill up the syringe COMPLETELY with the cleaning solution
2.Putt the little tube on the syringe
3.Push the fluid gently till it drops out the tube. (so that no air gets into the ink tube of the printer).
Phase 2 : Printer preparation
1.Make sure you have full ORIGINAL epson ink cartridges for your printer at your disposal.
2.Disconnect the printer from the pc
3.Connect your printer to the power cable.
4.Push the power button on the printer ,and once the inktray starts moving to the cleaning cycle remove the power cable.
5.Now you can move the inktray by hand. Move it to the position which enables you to open it.
6.Open the inktray ,remove the color of the cartridge you whish to clean. Then close it.
7.Now move the inktray gently to the right (not completely) until you have space to put a small paper towel underneath. The put the paper towel underneath. Then slide it back to the left so its above the paper towel.
8.Now put connect the syringe (with the little tube) on the inktube.
9.Gently push the cleaning fluid into the the inktube. (the complete 1.0 ml)
10.Fill up the syringe again ,and repeat step 8,9 .
11.IMPORTANT : Dont remove the syringe ,let on the ink tube.
12.Wait for 2h
Phase 3 : Finishing
1.Remove the syringe (and the small tube).
2.Put the inkcartridge back and close the inktray.
3.Slide the inktray to the right and remove the paper towel.
4.Connect the power to the printer.
5.Connect the printer to the pc and start the printer
6.From the printdriversettings ,run the cleaning of your heads 3 times.
7.Now print at least 15 testpages.
If after phase 1,2 and 3 your printer is still not working correctly , -test page not ok- then just repeat phase 1,2 and 3 again.
In order to avoid such problems ,just print at least 1 test page every week. I had my first epson inkjet printer for 6 years and no problems.
So whoever is using an epson printer :
-use original epson ink
-print at least 1 test page a week
-NEVER let the printer without a cartridge inserted (full or empty)

EPSON C67 Reset Software
this technology is not really worth buying for.
this because if can can just figure out how this printer feed ink by original cartridges you can see easily the problem brought by this CISS.
Basically the main problem is the pressure difference between the tank and the ink delivery cartridges with the built-in auto reset chips, this, even just simple pressure calculations you can actually derive a negative pressure pulling the ink towards the tank,
every after printing (if you can notice) you have to do the routine head clean-up and therefore wasting a lot of ink. base from experience it would be much better if you just refill the original cartridge and transfer the auto reset chips to the genuine cartridges.
so by doing this you can save the life of your printerhead, ink pad etc. also the original cartridge contain a sponge which also aid in filtering the refilled ink unlike the ciss cartridge that has none.

How to Reuse Ink Catridge
Note the steps below:
1. Purchase an ink refill kit at an office supply store or you can find these kits at online retailers.
2. Gather your kit, a roll of paper towels, and some clear scotch tape together on a large flat working
surface, a table or desk.
3. Remove the empty cartridge from your printer. (Remember to close your printer lid or door while you
are working.)
4. Cover your hands with a pair of disposable plastic gloves while you work with the messy ink.
6. Take a paper towel and fold it in half twice. Work over the paper towel to catch any leaking ink.
7. Place the empty cartridge on it.
8. Read the instruction manual included with the refill kit to learn how to refill your particular type of
cartridge. (The following instructions are just a general guide).
9. Locate the fill holes on the top of the cartridge. The depressions can be felt by rubbing your finger
across the label. Some cartridges have more than one hole, but only one leads to the ink reservoir that
you will refill. This hole will have a sponge in it.
10.Use a sharp pencil to pierce the refill holes in the top of the ink cartridge Or you can take the top label
off with a knife or screwdriver (Correct places can also be found in the kit instructions).
11.In addition to black, there are three colors of ink: magenta, cyan, and yellow. Follow the kit instructions
on which hole to insert each color OR push a toothpick into the holes to identify the colors as markings
on the printer cartridge are sometimes there to fool you into putting the wrong colors into the cartridge
ink chambers.
12.Insert the long needle of the refill ink bottle deeply into the correct hole penetrating the foam down into
the bottom of the cartridge. It is important not to push air into the cartridge foam while refilling. (An air
pocket will keep the ink from reaching the print head causing the cartridge not to print.)
13.Slowly, add the ink. Carefully watch to be sure that you do not over-fill.
14.Stop quickly as soon as you see a bit of ink oozing out of the hole. Without letting go of the bottle,
slowly release the air, sucking a little ink back out of the ink cartridge, before you remove the needle
completely.
15.Carefully daub the cartridge contacts on the paper towel, you should see a splotch of the ink leaking out
onto the paper towel.
16.Cover the hole with a small piece of clear scotch tape. (This works better than the seal dots included in
the kit.) Make sure that no ink is leaking out of the top holes. (That's where the clear tape comes in
handy.) Be careful not to cross contaminate the colors.
17.Repeat steps 11-15 for each ink color.
18.After you have refilled all three colors, carefully blot (don't wipe or rub) the cartridge printhead on a
folded piece of paper towel. You may need to do this several times. Do this until it stops bleeding and
you see an even stripe of three colors showing up on the towel.
19 If the blot shows the colors either faded or not at all, blot on wet paper towel and again on dry, to get
the ink flowing.
20.Replace the ink cartridge into the printer. Never, ever install a leaking print cartridge.
21.Immediately print something, anything, just to get the ink flowing. Print several test pages, preferable
photos with a lot of different colors.
22.Follow the cleaning or priming cycles for your specific printer.
If you follow this how-to guide and refill your print cartridge instead of buying a new one, you can save literally hundreds of dollars in printer ink. After refilling a print cartridge 5 or 6 times, the print head will eventually wear out. It can't last forever. Then you'll just have to buy a new cartridge and replace it.

Canon Error B200, How To Vanquish
The Canon error code B200 certainly
ranks as one of the more common issues and certainly one of the most the
bedeviling error codes a Canon user will come across. First, let's look
at the root of the error message so we may bring to light the variety
of possible solutions.
If you have read other portions
of this website, you may already know of the fork in the road in
inkjet-based printing. One path is the HP-based Pizeo-electric crystal
approach. A Pizeo-crystal vibrates when electricity is applied to it.
This creates a push and pull of the ink to the media. Contrast this to
the Canon bubble jet system.
Imagine if you will on an ultra-fine
scale, the rubber nipple on a baby bottle. If you have ever overheated a
baby's bottle, you have already experienced the baby's forthcoming meal
shooting out the top of the nipple like some miniature Mount Vesuvius.
While the thermodynamic law in a baby bottles application is messy and
annoying, Canon engineers use the principle for printing.
In
comparison to HP ink, the ink supply for a Canon printer is much thicker
and more like oil, almost tar like. Behind the nipple is an electrical
resistor that produces heat. Therefore, the same thermodynamic laws
apply, and a droplet of ink 'bubbles out' of the nozzle.
The resistor
needs electricity from a high-voltage section and feedback from the
printhead about what is going on in the active bubble land. When
something has gone awry in this sub process, the service error B200
error occurs.
Service Code B200 Troubleshooting
Replace ink cartridges if they are empty
At
the risk of stating the obvious (frequently not so obvious in the heat
of the moment), find out if the ink cartridges are empty. When in doubt,
try a new cartridge.
A data cable of print head is open
Did you just replace an ink cartridge? Perhaps you shifted a data cable to the print head.
Bad power adapter
Is
the power supply (internal or external) failing to generate enough
electrical juice to get the resistors hot enough for the laws of
thermodynamics to occur (creating a bubble of ink).
Replace printhead if it is damaged or not a part of the ink cartridge
It
should be noted that for the Canon printers that use a separate (not
integrated) printhead, there is a finite lifespan to the dozens of
microsizedbaby bottle nipples. Just like the kids bottle, the
rubber/silicon nozzle does wear out.
Turn off the printer for some time
In other troubleshooting tips here we have advised any inkjet printer not seeing regular usage to run a
test print page. For those of you making heavy usage of a Canon inkjet
printer, consider getting a coffee break, while giving your printer a
break too. This will avoid saturating the printhead with heat,
prolonging useful service life.
Update the printer driver
If
you have followed all this and you're still screaming, "no joy!” From
the printer menu (not computer) push the buttons to get a demo or test
page. If everything is hunky-dory when you do this, however, you get the
service error code B200 when you try to produce something productive,
odds are good, the print driver the computer is using has gone south
(corrupt).
When printing on a network, a corrupt printer driver can
spread like an unwanted virus. Depending on the network, a driver that
has gone rogue may be seen as an updated driver, which network will
'helpfully spread' as an update.
Check the ink levels HP Photosmart C4480
- 1. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print
Properties dialog box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the
Features tab, and then click the Printer Services button.
The Printer Toolbox appears. - 2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. The estimated ink levels for the print cartridges appear.
If you are experiencing problems with printing, print a self-test
report before you replace the print cartridges. This report provides
useful information on several aspects of your printert, including your
print cartridges.
To print a self-test report
- 1. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
- 2. Press and hold the Cancel button and then press the Start Copy Color button.
The HP Photosmart C4480 printers prints a self-test report, which might
indicate the source of the printing problem. A sample of the ink test
area of the report is shown below. - 3. Make sure the test patterns show a complete grid and the thick color lines are complete.
- If more than a few lines in a pattern are broken, this might
indicate a problem with the nozzles. You might need to clean the print
cartridges. - If the black line is missing, faded, streaked, or shows lines, this
might indicate a problem with the black or photo print cartridge in the
right slot. - If any of the color lines are missing, faded, streaked, or show lines, this might
- indicate a problem with the tri-color print cartridge in the left slot.
- If more than a few lines in a pattern are broken, this might
Use this feature when the self-test report shows streaking, white
lines through any of the lines of color or when a color is muddy after
installing a print cartridge for the first time.
Do not clean print cartridges unnecessarily, as this wastes ink and shortens the life of the ink nozzles.
To clean the print cartridges from the HP Photosmart Software
- 1. Load letter, A4, or legal unused plain white paper into the input tray.
- 2. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings.
- 3. In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also
open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog box. In the
Print Properties dialog box, click the Features tab, and then click
Printer Services.
The Printer Toolbox appears. - 4. Click the Device Services tab.
- 5. Click Clean the Print Cartridges.
- 6. Follow the prompts until you are satisfied with the quality of the output, and then click Done.
- 7. Follow the prompts until you are satisfied with the quality of the output, and then click Done.
There are three stages of cleaning. Each stage lasts from one to two
minutes, uses one sheet of paper, and uses an increasing amount of ink.
After each stage, review the quality of the printed page. You should
only initiate the next phase of cleaning if the print quality is poor.
If print quality still seems poor after you clean the print cartridges,
try cleaning the print cartridge contacts before replacing the affected
print cartridge.
Replace the print cartridges HP Photosmart C4480 printers
When the ink level for the print cartridge is low, a message appears
on the display. You can also check the ink levels by using the Printer
Toolbox available through the HP Photosmart Software on your computer or
through the Print Properties dialog box on your computer.
To replace the print cartridges HP Photosmart C4480 printers
- 1. Make sure the HP Photosmart C4480 printers is turned on.
CAUTION: If the
product is turned off when you open the print cartridge door to access
the print cartridges, it will not release the cartridges for changing.
You might damage the product if the print cartridges are not docked
safely when you try to remove them.
- 2. Make sure you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
The print carriage moves to the far right side of the printer.
- 4. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent. Lightly press
down on a print cartridge to release it, and then pull the print
cartridge toward you out of its slot.
If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left.
If you are replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right.
1 | Print cartridge slot for the tri-color print cartridge |
2 | Print cartridge slot for the black and photo print cartridges |
TIP: If you are removing the black print cartridge
in order to install the photo print cartridge, store the black print
cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an airtight plastic
container.
- 5. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being
careful to touch only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape
by using the pink pull tab.
1 | Copper-colored contacts |
2 | Plastic tape with pink pull tab (must be removed before installing) |
3 | Ink nozzles under tape |
CAUTION: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or
ink nozzles. Also, do not re-tape the print cartridges. Doing so can
result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
- 6. Hold the print cartridge with the HP logo on top, and insert the
new print cartridge into the empty cartridge slot. Make sure you push
the print cartridge in firmly until it snaps into place.
If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot.
If you are installing a black or photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.
- 7. Close the print cartridge door.
- 8. When prompted, press OK.
The HP Photosmart C4480 printers prints a print cartridge alignment page.
NOTE: If you have
colored paper loaded in the input tray when you align the print
cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into
the input tray, and then try the alignment again.
- 9. Load the page print side down on the right front corner of the glass, and then press OK to scan the page.
- 10. When the On button stops flashing, the alignment is complete. Remove the alignment page and recycle or discard it.

HDD Font Download Feature
Create a directory on the HDD to store the fonts and download the font data to the directory.
Creating a Font Directory on the HDD
To create the “fonts” directory on the HDD, send the following PJL (Printer Job Language) command to the printer.
@PJL FSMKDIR NAME="0:pcl"[
@PJL FSMKDIR NAME="0:pclfonts"[
Here, means 0x1b, means 0x0d, and means 0x0a.Therefore, %-12345X in hex code would be:0x1b 0x25 0x2d 0x31 0x32 0x33 0x34 0x35 0x58
%-12345X is the UEL (Universal Exit Language) and must be at the beginning of any job to be registered onto the HDD. @PJL FSMKDIR NAME="0:pcl" specifies the directory pcl to be created on the HDD’s 0 volume. This causes the 0:pcl directory to be created.
If the volume is not 0, a parse error will occur and no directory will be created.
Next, the @PJL FSMKDIR NAME="0:pclfonts" command creates the “fonts” subdirectory under “pcl”. The directory where PCL font data can be stored is fixed to 0:pclfonts.
PCL only recognizes “fonts”. No other directory is supported.
@PJL FSDOWNLOAD FORMAT:BINARY NAME = "0:pclfontsmCrj00cp.sft" SIZE=71502
This section specifies the file name and the file size of the PCL font data to follow.
qFile format must be binary.
qFile size must count the number of bytes after the , up to the last UEL but excluding the UEL. Size must be in the range 0 -231 - 1.
0:pclfontsmCrj00cp.sft is the font file name.
qAvailable characters are the same as those in DOS file names.
qFile name can be up to 100 characters long. Path names (including all intermediate directory names and the file name) must be no longer than 255 bytes.
Font ContentPCL 5e commands
q)s585W
ØFont Header Command. 585 indicates the number of Font Header Data bytes that follows this command. Font format follows.
q*c1E
ØCharacter Code Command. Character Code = 1
q(s930w
ØCharacter Definition Command. 930 indicates the number of bytes in the Character Data Block that follows this command. Character Format follows that command.
qAfter these, Character Code Command and Character Definition Command are sent for each character.
Troubleshooting sequence for printing issues 2
To isolate whether the issue is with printer’s Hardware or Software let’s print a Test page from the printer by disconnecting the printer’s USB cable from the Computer or from the printer side.
Now, the results show two scenarios:
One is Hardware issue(If the self test is not printed from printer).
Second one is Software issue(If the self test is printed from printer).
Hardware Scenario:
If the printer does not print a Self Test page from the printer, it confirms that the printer hardware is not functioning properly.Educate the Customer by stating that I’m sorry to say this. As per the results, I suspect that the printer hardware is not functioning properly. However, let us try some more troubleshooting steps to isolate and fix the issue.
Step 1: Connect the printer directly to wall out let.
Step 2: Check the ink level.
Step 3: Cleaning of cartridge and printer contacts.
Step 4: Perform a Power cycle steps to remove static electricity from printer.
Follow the steps to Power cycle the printer :
1.Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
2.Unplug the power supply from the back of the printer.
3.Wait at least 20 seconds, and then plug in the supply back into the wall outlet.
4.Plug in the power supply back into the printer.
5.Press the power button to turn the printer on.
After performing all the steps, try printing a Self-Test page from printer.
